Known Issues
Sony Vaio Laptops
Sony installs a very stripped down version of the Intel Proset Utility. Because of this, it is crippled in that you cannot access the authenication/profile settings of the Proset Utility. To overcome this please follow the following steps.
- Remove all existing Sony and Intel wireless software from the computer
- Restart Computer
- Install newest version of the Intel ProSet driver/utility from their site see:HOWTO:Wireless
- Restart Computer
- Verify that the wireless card has started without any issues or resource conflicts via Device Manager
- Configure according to HOWTO:Wireless
Not able to connect to the Internet, but completes authenication.
Perform the following steps.
- Start>Run>"cmd"
- C:>ipconfig
- If the IP begins with 169.0.0.1 or is a non Univserity subnet (not 130.101.xxx.xxx) please see TCP/IP settings.
