From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

E-mail spam, also known as "bulk e-mail" or "junk e-mail," is a subset of spam that involves nearly identical messages sent to numerous recipients by e-mail. A common synonym for spam is unsolicited bulk e-mail (UBE). Definitions of spam usually include the aspects that email is unsolicited and sent in bulk.

How to report a Spam email

If you are using the outlook client you can summit emails like this using report message tool. If you are using Outlook WebApp: Click the email then click on Junk and it will give you an option to report the email as Phishing/Junk/or just block it.

Setting your Spam preferences

Begin by logging into Once Logged in, click on the EMAIL tab. You can change the sensitivity of the spam filter by changing the values in drop down boxes.

Creating a filter

After you have set the thresholds of what email should be tagged {SPAM?}(system thinks message is spam)and {SPAM!}(system is almost certain message is spam), you will need to tell your email software what to do.

Requesting a new UAnetID
With very few exceptions, it is not possible to generate a new UAnetID for any user once created. UAnetIDs are very heavily tied into various databases, and therefore are not modified once issued.

Unfortunately, spam affects us all. No one solution will be perfect for everyone. A very common and easy to implement solution involves forwarding your email to another service provider, for example, Google's GMail service. Other options include downloading or purchasing software that can filter spam from your inbox while you check your email. Many free and commercial options are available.
