From www.kurzweiledu.com/kurz3000.aspx

Kurzweil 3000TM is the comprehensive reading, writing and learning software solution for any struggling reader, including individuals with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorder or those who are English Language Learners.

This product is used by the Developmental Programs and Accessibilites on the University of Akron Campus. Access to this program can be granted to off campus machines. A VPN connection must be established before the program can be used.

Common Issues

The most common issue with the program is that it will not start off campus. Kurzweil requires a liscense to operate. Once the program is installed on a personal machine and it taken off campus a VPN is required to obtain the license.
