Introduction

Official iPhone Web Page

iPhones are now able to connect to the wireless network on campus. Students / Faculty and Staff should connect to tsunami. If you are a guest of the university, you should connect with [uaguest]

Connecting The Iphone to the wireless network

NOTE: You must have the iPhone 2.0 software to connect to tsunami

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Wi-Fi
  • Make sure Wi-Fi is set to On
  • Under Choose a Network, tap Other
  • In the Name field, type tsunami
  • Tap Security
  • Select WPA Enterprise
  • Tap Other network
  • Enter your UAnetID and password in the username and password fields
  • Tap Join

Connecting the Iphone to your email

For Students

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Tap Add Account
  • Tap Other
  • Enter your name, email address, and email password
  • Tap Save
  • Tap IMAP
  • Enter the following information:
    • Incoming Mail Server
      • Host Name: imap.uakron.edu
      • User Name: enter your UAnetID
    • Outgoing Mail Server
      • Host Name: smtp.uakron.edu
  • Tap Save
  • It will warn you that it is unable to connect using SSL, when it asks if you want to try setting up without SSL, tap Yes (You may need to do this twice)
