  1. Click/Select Start -> Control Panel -> Mail
  2. Click/Select E-Mail Accounts…
  3. Click/Select “New”
    • If you already have a @uakron.edu account configured you may delete that because the e-mail should already be migrated to the @zips.uakron.edu and the @uakron.edu will no longer receive incoming email
  4. Click/Select “Microsoft Exchange, Pop, IMAP, or HTTP”
  5. Click/select “Next”
  6. Click/Select “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” at the bottom of the window
  7. Click/Select “Next”
  8. Click/Select “Internet E-Mail”
  9. Click/Select “Next”
  10. Enter
    • Your Name
    • E-Mail address (uanetid@zips.uakron.edu)
    • Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
    • User Name: Your UANET ID@zips.uakron.edu
    • Password:Your password
  11. Click/Select “More Settings…”
  12. Click/Select “Outgoing Server” tab
  13. Click/Select “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” box
  14. Click/Select “Advanced” tab
  15. Click/Select “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)” box select "SSL"
  16. In the “Outgoing server (SMTP)” box enter, 465
  17. Click/Select “OK”
  18. Click/Select “Finish”
