These are some common email settings used by The University of Akron

Students

On/Off Campus
Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
Web Access
Web Address: http://mail.zips.uakron.edu

IMAP EMail System

On Campus
Incoming Mail Server: exchange.uanet.edu
Outgoing Mail Server: exchange.uanet.edu
IMPORTANT: Enable secure connection (SSL) for the incoming and outgoing server ports.

Off campus w/ VPN Connection
Incoming Mail Server: exchange.uanet.edu
Outgoing Mail Server: exchange.uanet.edu
IMPORTANT: Enable secure connection (SSL) for the incoming and outgoing server ports.

Off Campus w/o VPN Connection
Incoming Mail Server: exchange.uanet.edu
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp-server.neo.rr.com
NOTE: The outgoing mail server above is only for Time Warner/OBEN users. If you have another service provider you will need to use their SMTP server address to send email.

Faculty/Staff

Outlook Web Access (OWA)
Web Address: https://exchange.uanet.edu
NOTE: Outlook Web Access (OWA) is available anywhere with or without a VPN connection.

Email Client Access
Incoming Server: exchange.uanet.edu
Outgoing Server: exchange.uanet.edu
If your email client requests an account type use Exchange Activesync. Otherwise, use IMAP.
NOTE: You will need a VPN connection while off campus for your email client to function properly with the University of Akron email system.
