Introduction

There are three different networks accessible while on campus:

  • Roo-Secure is for UA students, faculty, and staff. If you have a myAkron account, this is the network you will connect to.
  • Roo-Guest is for guests visiting the university and for connecting media devices to the network. Note that UA resources such as myAkron or Brightspace are unavailable while connected to this network.
  • eduroam is for students, faculty, and staff who are visiting from other universities of the EDUroam network.

Connecting an Android device to the network

Not every Android device will have the icons and menus look EXACTLY like this, but they will all be very similar provided they are running Android 4.x.

1. Click on Settings in your app drawer

2. Make sure Wi-Fi is set to On and then click on Wi-Fi in the settings panel.

Select Roo-Secure and fill out the settings as shown below:
EAP method: PEAP
Set CA certificate to Do Not Validate Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
Identity: your UANet ID
Password: your password
