Android VPN
From The University of Akron Support Wiki
Starting with Android 4.0, the ability to connect to an IPSEC VPN has been built in to the OS. This guide was made off of a mostly stock version of Android 4.2.2 on a Nexus4. Not every phone's setup will be the same as this guide, however most phones will be similar enough to this setup that you should be able to work it out.
1 | Open System Preferences and click on More... choice under "Wireless & Networks"
2 | Click on VPN choice | |
3 | If you do not have Lock Screen Security set up already, it will ask you to set it up now. The typical choices are a PIN or an unlock pattern
4 | Click the + at the top of your screen and fill out the menus as shown. Enter "zippy" as the IPSec pre-shared key. Click Save when you are done.
5 | Click on Akron (or whatever you named your VPN) and enter your ID and password. Choose the option to save your login information if you want.
6 | Once your VPN is connected, you will get a key icon in your notification bar. If you pull down the bar you will get a "VPN activates" choice. If you wish to disconnect from the VPN, click this. |
