MATLAB® is a high-level language and interactive environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++, and Fortran.


Downloading Matlab

To obtain a copy of the software please visit the Mathworks site to create an account and download the software. You will need your university email account to access the license. Click on the instructions for your classification to get activation information: Faculty Instructions or Student Instructions. For a complete list of Tool Boxes please review the Product list here. (Please note you must use your UA Email to create your account with Matlab)

Obtaining a New License File for License Renewal

On your computer, launch the MATLAB® program, click on "Help", Then Click on "Licensing", in this menu click on "Update Current License" and then click "update". Once it has been updated you will need to close and restart MATLAB®.

Access the Mathworks Training

All users who are associated to the UA campus Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license are automatically enrolled in all available online training courses. To access training, users should:

  1. Visit the MathWorks Portal
  2. Log in using their MathWorks account

Once logged in, you will be able to see a full list of available courses. Users who are not associated to the TAH license can visit this page to link their MathWorks account to the TAH license. Questions regarding the training site should be directed to training@mathworks.com.
