As a remedy to failed Java 6 installations, a third-party Java removal utility, called JavaRa, may be used to completely remove Java 7. JavaRa may be downloaded from the following location…

Be sure to use version 2.0, as previous versions of JavaRa do not always completely remove Java 7. After downloading JavaRa, extract the files and run javara.exe…

  • Click the green “Update JavaRa Definitions” icon and then click the Download button. After the definitions have been updated, click the Back button to return to the main menu.
  • Click the blue “Remove JRE” icon.
  • Step 1 - Use the drop-down list to select the version of Java to be uninstalled, then click the “Run Uninstaller” button. When the uninstaller is finished, or if no Java installations appear in the drop-down list, click Next.
  • Step 2 - Click the “Perform Removal Routine” button. JavaRa will attempt to remove files, registry entries and other items left behind by the uninstaller.
  • Step 3 - Click Next to skip the download/installation step.
  • Step 4 - Select “Exit JavaRa” and click Finish to exit the program.

Java 7 should now be completely removed.
