What the message means

It could mean many things, in most cases it is either a configuration, add-on, or network connectivity issue.

Reset Internet Explorer

Additional Troubleshooting

Reset Security Zone Settings

1. Open Internet Options as described in Reset Internet Explorer 7
2. Click 'Security'
3. Click 'Reset all zones to default level'

No Add-Ons mode

Sometimes there may be an Add-On causing IE to not perform properly. To run IE in No Add-Ons mode:

1. Click 'Start'
2. Click 'All Programs'
3. Click 'Accessories'
4. Click 'System Tools'
5. Click 'Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)'

Temporarily Disable Anti-Virus/Firewall suites

Microsoft KB942818 suggests that a Windows Update may cause issues with certain anti-virus and security suites. Please review your respective product's documentation on how to temporarily disable it for troubleshooting.

Reset everything

Note: This will clear everything and restore Internet Explorer to it's default settings. This should only be done as a last resort.

1. Open Internet Options as described in Reset Internet Explorer 7
2. Click 'Advanced'
3. Click 'Reset'
