Wireless Quickticket

Before you start to fill out a ticket, make certain that the user has a LEAP compatible card (Wireless).

Acquire User Information

Enter in the user's UANETID in the respective field and press enter. At this point, the other fields should either automatically populate, or prompt you with a list of other possible UANETIDs because of the ambiguity of earlier IDs.
Now you will have to fill in the non-populated fields, usually including location, phone number, and details for the computer being setup.

Fill in the Dependent Fields

Leave the title of the ticket as the default "Wireless Setup" and continue on to "Edit Dependent Fields." After you click on the "Edit Dependent Fields" hyperlink a popup window prompt you to enter in the specifics about the user's computer. The important fields include:

  • Manufacturer
  • Serial Number
  • Card Manufacturer
  • Platform
  • Personal Equipment
  • Computer Name

Description

If the wireless setup is a success with the standard utility install simply state: "Setup Wireless: (please append any special circumstances to this install)" in the description field.
