WM6 Wireless Config

To configure a Windows Mobile 6.0 Device to work on the wireless network, perform the following:

Setting up LEAP

• Click Start -> Settings
• Click on the 'Connections' tab
• Click on 'Wireless LAN'
• Click on the 'LEAP' tab
  • Click the 'New' button
  • Enter in the proper credentials
    • SSID: tsunami
    • User Name: your uanetid
    • Password: your uanet password
    • Leave domain blank
    • Set the Authentication type to 'Open'
  • Now click "ok" (top right corner) to save these settings

Connecting to 'tsunami'

you must have setup the LEAP connection in the previous step before proceeding to this one

• From the 'Connection' tab on the settings screen, click 'Wi-Fi'
• You should see "tsunami" available.
• Click 'tsunami' and you should be taken to the "Configure Wireless Network" screen.
• Click 'Next', leaving 'Connects to:' set to "The Internet"
• The Default settings for "Configure Network Authentication" should already be setup for you
  • Authentication "Open"
  • Data Encryption "WEP"
  • 'The key is automatically provided' should be checked'
• Click 'Next'
• You should see a check box labeled "User IEEE 802.1x network access control". Leave this unchecked.
• Click "Finish"

You will be returned to the screen where you see tsunami (and your other wireless networks). If it still says "Available" click the "Connect" button.

The connection process should now begin. Once connected it will say "Connected"
