Pilot Users Conversion Process

The gmtest and livetest users are now able to convert their accounts over to the Google Apps mail system
Please follow the instructions below for how to do so:

Move your contacts

  1. Log in to the old account
  2. Go to Contacts
  3. Click on Export (it is top right in the new version)
  4. Select Gmail's CSV format
  5. Save the file to your computer

  6. Log in to the new account
  7. Go to Contacts
  8. Click on Import
  9. Import the CSV file you just exported

To move your mail

  1. Login to your pilot e-mail at http://mail.gmtest.uakron.edu/
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click on Fowarding and POP/IMAP
  4. Click on Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded) located in the POP Download section.
  5. Click on Save Changes

  6. Login to your new zips.uakron.edu account at http://mail.zips.uakron.edu/
  7. Click on Settings
  8. Click on Add a mail account you own in the Get mail from other accounts section
  9. At the pop up window, type your ,Gmail Pilot address youruanetid@gmtest.uakron.edu and click Next Step button.
  10. On the next screen, for the Username type your full Gmail Pilot address youruanetid@gmtest.uakron.edu
  11. Type the Gmail Pilot password, then type in pop.gmail.com for the POP Server
  12. Select 995. for the Port from the drop down list.
  13. Select Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.
  14. On the next screen, select No.
  15. Click the final button at the button of the screen.

You have now moved your mail to the new Google Apps System
