OneCare VPN

Microsoft OneCare is Microsoft’s solution for antivirus, anti-spy ware, and firewall protection. OneCare runs in three stages, Green for Good, Yellow for not so, and Red for bad, or needs attention.


To disable to the firewall in OneCare, from the main page, click change settings on the left side. The first tab will be the firewall. By selecting the “off” option this will turn off the OneCare firewall, as well as, the Windows firewall.


VPN Exception –

The VPN exception will allow a VPN connection to pass though the OneCare firewall, this setting

should also affect the Windows firewall.

At the Windows Live OneCare main page select the Change Settings

At the Windows Live OneCare settings menu, under the firewall tab click the “Configure Firewall” button

Click the arrow beside the “Virtual Private Network (VPN)”

Select the “on” option and click “apply”

Click close at the OneCare firewall settings menu, and then exit out Windows Live OneCare

The VPN connection should now work
